Can You Lose 30 Pounds in 30 Days?

So can you lose 30 pounds in 30 days? The answer is yes, even though it is three times the recommended weight loss by nutritionist and doctors. For permanent weight loss diet experts say you should lose two pounds a week which is eight pounds a month. However most people who want know how to lose 30 pounds in a month just do not have the patience for that type of slow melting off of the pounds.

Is This Type of Weight Loss Possible?

Your goal for this type of speedy weight loss plan to succeed would be to lose a pound a day which sounds easy but it is actually more complicated than you think. For one thing you would need to burn off 3500 calories a day because 3500 calories equals one pound.

Now consider that when most people exercise the most calories they tend to ever burn is between 700 and 1000 and that means working out all day at a marathon pace.  For instance it would take most women about three to four hours to burn off 700 calories riding their bike outside and about two hours on a treadmill or elliptical trainer.  To burn off 3500 calories the person would be working out for about six hours a day.  However that is doing the math around this type of weight loss without even figuring in how many calories that you would be taking in as food.

Most people cannot survive and be healthy on less than 500 calories a day at the very minimum and usually you need between 1200 and 2000 calories to feel well enough to exercise for six hours straight.

When you do the math you can see that losing weight like this can be problematic because it takes a lot of exerting and starvation to achieve it.  Athletes, models and celebrities have managed to do it in the past. Personal trainers have also been known to achieve this type of weight loss as well.

However in this article we will be trying to give you some advice on how to lose 30 pounds in 1 month by providing tips about how to speed your weight loss.

Cut Out All Colas

Most colas are very high in calories.  Just 20 fluid ounces is 260 – 300 calories. Colas are high in sodium, which causes you to retain water and very high in sugar which simply causes you to become fat.

If you are consuming 300 or more empty calories in the form of colas every day then you better be prepared to run on a treadmill for two hours every day to lose that weight. However, much easier than taking all that time out of your schedule to exercise is simply the notion of quitting drinking Colas.

Colas are addictive because the sugar and caffeine in them give us a real lift. However the lift is temporary and soon we crave another cola.

Eat More Protein and Less Carbs

In general the more protein you eat and the less carbs the better off you will be when it comes to weight loss. However you need to make sure that the protein you are eating is a high quality meat and that it is very lean. Trim the fat off of all your meats before you eat them. Take the skin off chicken and only buy lean ground beef.  Drain any fat from the pan before your serve yourself cooked meats.  Stay away from sausages and bacon which unless eaten in very tiny portions can cause you to gain weight.

There are some high protein diets out there that seem to have worked for a lot of people. Look for the South Beach Diet, the Zone Diet, Weight Watchers and the Green Tea Diet. These diets let you eat a lot of protein and the good carbs found in vegetables and fruits.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

When you look at diet plans you will hear fruits and vegetables called all kinds of different names. You will hear them called “negative calories” or “fat burners.” The reason they are called this is because they are “good carbs” full of fibre and vitamins and many of them are lower calorie. It is the breads and carbs full of salt and white sugar that cause you to keep the pounds packed on your frame.

Some schools of dieting say that the best way to get the pounds off is to fill your plate with salad, skip the dressing and then eat pieces of meat that are the size of the palm of your hand.

Drink More Than Eight Glasses of Water a Day

Doctors say that to stay healthy you need to consume more than eight glasses of water a day. This is because water flushes out our system.  One successful approach to weight loss is to drink black tea, green tea or black coffee and use those substances as safe diuretics to wash the water you are drinking through your system.

Get Some Exercise

You can deprive yourself of food all of you want but will not be able to lose weight if you also exercise. You must make room in your busy schedule to do this or you will remain flabby. If you can’t make it to the gym then at the very least make it a priority to take an hour long walk every day.

Set Goals and Keep Them

Most people succeed at weight loss when they set a start date and an end date for their weight loss program. That is why planning to lose a certain amount of weight in a thirty day period is a very good idea.

Setting a goal is works well for people who are really busy and need to program in what they need to eat and how much they need to exercise the same way they would an important business meeting. Making time to lose weight is more than half the battle as so much weight gain is about ignoring the whole matter, refusing to exercise and eating whatever we want, whenever we want, in a compulsive and obsessive manner that is not good for our health.
